RECLAIM. RESTORE. REVIVE. WITH THERMIVA®

We, at Greece ObGyn, are very excited to be the first providers to offer ThermiVa® treatment in the greater Rochester area.

What is ThermiVa®?

ThermiVa® is an in-office, non-hormonal, non-surgical procedure for vaginal and labial restoration. It uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat tissue to rejuvenate collagen, without discomfort or downtime. Studies show improvement in vaginal tightening, urinary incontinence, sexual function, vaginal moisture and anorgasmia (inability to have an orgasm) in patients who have received ThermiVa® treatments.

ThermiVa® is the first noninvasive procedure using controlled thermal energy to improve these tissues. It makes a great alternative to mesh procedures for incontinence, surgical labia repair, or even long-term medications like vaginal estrogen.

Unlike the laser treatment options such as the MonaLisa touch, Thermiva® has no recovery downtime, no pain, and has immediate results. It also acts on external tissues in addition to internal tissues. The most exciting advantage of ThermiVa®, is the neuromodulation effect which helps with urinary urgency and incontinence issues.

Who is ThermiVa® for?

Thermiva® is for women who have gone through childbirth and the natural aging process. Strenuous vaginal childbirth, multiple births, and the effects of menopause cause physical changes that can have a toll on sexual and urinary function and Thermiva® can help with that. ThermiVa® is advantageous for women experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Vaginal dryness
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Vaginal/labial laxity
  • Painful intercourse
  • Decreased sensitivity during sex

What should I expect from a ThermiVa® treatment?

ThermiVa® is performed in 3 treatments, 30 minutes each, over the course of 3 months. The treatment involves applying gentle heat to the vagina and vulva. There is no pain or discomfort and you can have sex that night!

What results should I expect?

  • Increasing vaginal moisture and lubrication
  • Decreasing discomfort during intercourse
  • Improving urinary control and treating mild urinary leakage
  • Tightening the vaginal canal internally and at the opening of the vagina
  • Tightening loose, stretched outer lips of the vagina
  • Enhancing sensitivity and sexual arousal/orgasm
  • Relaxing areas that may be too tight or painful
